Old woman and babyWe are a multi-disciplinary membership organisation, and our members are drawn from health and social care services, regulators, policy makers, academics, and members of the public, including older people, their families and friends. Older people can become members of the charity at no cost. See our membership page for more information.

We have a Board of trustees who meet at least five times each year, and who set the strategic direction of the charity (see Trustee page), and our day to day operations are managed by the Chief Executive, and coordinated through our Directors in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland (see Staff page).

We believe we are stronger when our nations work together, valuing and supporting the unique history, culture and identity that each contribute, and collaborating for the betterment of our older generations. For this reason we have a federalised structure that gives equal value to the individual nations that are part of our work: EnglandWalesScotland and Northern Ireland.
