Everybody is different, so it’s important to find a fundraising activity that suits you. Here are just a few ideas to get you thinking …

  • Host a quiz night at your local pub, community centre, school, cafe and charge a small entry fee to take part.
  • Supermarket bag packing - Get a few people you know to volunteer for a couple of hours. Offer to help pack people’s shopping in exchange for a donation. Contact your local supermarket as early as possible to arrange and time and date because slots often get booked up well in advance.
  • Encourage your colleagues to bring in home-baked (or shop-bought) goodies to sell in the office. It’s a simple way to raise money and will perk up the morning coffee break.
  • Car boot and yard sales are a good excuse to have a clear out. Ask friends and family if they’d like to de-clutter their attics to and donate items for sale.
  • Get yourself sponsored: Swim, walk, run, silence and pie eating! Most things can be sponsored so the choice is yours. Perhaps get your friends involved and make it a fun team effort?
  • Want to jump out of a plane, run a marathon or cycle at night in London? Whatever takes your fancy we can help you achieve your dream.
  • Something to celebrate? Have a party and ask guests if they could make a donation to AEA instead of buying a present, or perhaps make it themed with a murder mystery evening, games night, karaoke or barbeque
  • Fundraising at work could be a great way to bring colleagues together improve staff morale and raise much needed funds for AEA. How about a dress down day, or a lunch break yoga class?
  • Hold a raffle - you could contact your local shops, pubs and restaurants to donate items or vouchers as prizes.
