Help raise awareness of the charity, and support our income, by placing collection tins in your local community.

Why the role is important:

AEA exists to challenge the abuse of older people, and to help those who have been the victims of abuse. All of our services are provided free to older people, but we need to reach more and help more. In addition to the critical advice and support given by our helpline, we also provide tailor-made support services for victims to help them recover from the effect of abuse. This is a service that is in huge demand, and we need it to grow.  We don’t receive any government funding for running our services, so we are entirely dependent on fundraising and donations.

What we will ask you to do:

  • Approach local businesses to find new locations for AEA collection tins
  • Empty the tins at regular intervals throughout the year and donate the funds to AEA
  • Collect existing tins on our behalf and thank participating businesses
  • Keep an accurate log of collection tin locations and amounts raised

What do you need:

  • Be friendly and confident
  • Have a good knowledge of local area
  • Have an ability to work on own initiative
  • Have good organisational skills
  • Be comfortable handling cash
  • Be aged at least 18 years

What commitment is required?

You can do this role at times that suit you. It will probably take around three hours per month to build up and maintain your collection tin network.
