Action on Elder Abuse is both a charity and a company limited by guarantee. This means that we have legal responsibilities both to the Charity Commission in England/Wales and the Scottish Charity Commission, and to Companies House in terms of submitting annual information on our activities and accounts, and in how we operate.

We hold an Annual General Meeting, usually at one of our conferences, and this elects trustee/directors, considers any resolutions put forward by members, and debates key issues. Our Chief Executive is also our Company Secretary.

Annual Reports

Like all charities of a certain size, Action on Elder Abuse is required to have its accounts audited and to provide an annual report indicating what we said we would do during any particular year, with an analysis of what we actually did.  The purpose is to ensure transparency and accountability, and to ensure people can have confidence in our work and our actions. You can download a copy of those reports by clicking on the relevant document.
