Peter Westland CBE, was formerly the Director of Social Services in Hammersmith and Fulham and before that Acting Children’s Officer in Wandsworth. Later he was head of health and social care policy at the Association of Metropolitan Authorities. Represented local government on two EU committees. In retirement, he became a Commissioner for the Care Standards Commission and subsequently the Commission for Social Care Inspection. Long-time involvement in local health care governance and policy. Member of Kings Fund Commissions on Services in London and sometime chair of the Fund's Primary Care Committee. Voluntary sector involvement includes sometime Chair of Broadcasting Support Services, a Charity set up by the BBC and Channel 4 to support Social Action Broadcasting.
