Action on Elder Abuse does not have the infrastructure of bigger charities, despite the fact that we are the most effective organisation challenging elder abuse in the UK. We rely heavily on the support of individuals, trusts, foundations and companies to maintain our work and profile and, like many charities, we have been affected by the recession.

There are a variety of ways that you can support us, and we have identified a range of options below, so please choose the section that suits you best. Sadly, the issue of elder abuse is slipping behind because of the recession, and is not a high profile issue in Government priorities and thinking. So we have to redouble our efforts to make sure that older people have a quality of life and not just an existence.

And, when you support AEA, you can be assured that your money goes exclusively towards addressing the abuse of very vulnerable people. It's what we do. It's all that we do. Thank you for considering supporting us.

  Making a regular donation to our work is one of the most valuable ways that you can help us because it ensures a steady income for our projects and our activities. But, even if you are unable to make regular commitments, a single donation can help us too. We are often described as an organisation that 'punches above its weight' and this is because we strongly believe in what we do, and because we spend every penny we get on just one thing - challenging elder abuse.
  
  By making a donation to us you can become part of this process and know that, when we encourage Governments to do more, or hold regulators to account, or challenge poor practices, or support very vulnerable people, you have helped make it possible. Every contribution, however large or small, can help our work and can help keep our voice independent and heard by those who are in a position to protect.

• Gift Aid

  To increase the amount of your gift at no additional cost to you, click here to download a gift aid form and send it in with your donation. Giftaid is a government initiative which enables charities to reclaim 25% of tax on donations, so long as the donor is a UK taxpayer. All we need is your home address, which is required by H&M Customs and Revenue. It’s hassle-free and will cost you nothing, but makes your donation worth even more to us!!

  Making a donation in memory of a friend or relative is a unique way to make their memory last forever. Your donation is a memorial that can make a real difference and provide great comfort at a time of loss. It can be a positive way to remember the life of a loved one while supporting the work that we do.   If you are organising a funeral, you could invite friends and relatives of your loved one to make a donation to Action on Elder Abuse instead of, or as well as, giving flowers at the funeral.

A legacy does not have to be a substantial sum. Once you have provided for those you care about, any legacy you can leave to us, whether large or small, will be put to challenging the abuse of older people and improving their lives.
