Our Services - SEMINARS

AEA Conference

A major activity for AEA is hosting seminars on issues related to elder abuse and the adult safeguarding agenda. Throughout each year we organise events on specific themes (e.g. financial abuse) or about specific services, all intended to highlight specific issues or increase the knowledge and awareness of practitioners.

Gary FitzGerald, CEO of Action on Elder abuse; and Ian Cranefield, Independent Solicitor.

Financial abuse is now recognised as the single biggest type of abuse facing older people today, but understanding the various types of abuse, what can be considered crimes, civil remedies, and the nature of victims and perpetrators, can be a challenge. This seminar will equip you with that knowledge, taking you through examples and key issues, and looking in-depth at case studies. With contributions from a solicitor perspective the seminar provides a significant overview of the topic.
