is a leading UK charity working in mental health and learning disabilities.  It pioneers research and community projects to improve support available to people with mental health problems and people with learning disabilities.

Northern Ireland Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety - Social Services Inspectorate

The Social Services Inspectorate work with others to ensure that social work and social care services are responsive to the needs of the population in Northern Ireland and are of the highest standards in keeping with the resources available.

 

Oxford Dementia Centre

is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team of social and health care professionals, having access to a wide range of related expertise.  The ODC provides education, training, information, consulting services and undertakes research to support the development of services for people with dementia and their families.

 

Patients Association

runs campaigns to support patients' rights and to improve healthcare services, lobbies Government to address healthcare issues affecting patients, provides a voice for patients and carers, and provides information and support to help patients speak up for themselves

 

Practitioner Alliance Against the Abuse of Vulnerable Adults

is a partner organisation with Action on Elder Abuse.  It organises a network of Adult Protection staff throughout the UK and is currently engaged in a Department of Health funded project looking at best practices within the No Secrets framework.

 

Public Concern at Work

was founded in 1993, and is the leading authority on public interest whistleblowing.  Their charitable objectives are to promote compliance with the law and good practice in organisations across all sectors.  In practical terms, they focus on the responsibility of workers to raise concerns about malpractice, and the responsibility of those in charge to investigate and remedy such issues.

Public Guardianship Office

The Public Guardianship Office (PGO) is the administrative arm of the Court of Protection (COP) and part of the Department for Constitutional Affairs (DCA). We provide financial protection services for clients who are not able to manage their own financial affairs because of some form of mental incapacity. The incapacity may be related to an illness (dementia, schizophrenia) or the result of an accident or negligence (brain injury). We are here to help, guide and support the families, friends and advisers of the people who are mentally incapable.
