A conservative estimate suggests that there will be at 500,000
acts of elder abuse in the Elder abuse differs from individual to individual. For some older people it may mean having their savings stolen. For others, the abuse may be psychological and involve threats of being put into a home, or denied access to the grand-children. Other victims may suffer physical abuse, from slaps to extreme cruelty. This can be a lonely, isolating experience, leaving people desperate and afraid. Most can do nothing while they lose their dignity and humanity. Too often the abuser is family, friend, neighbour, or paid worker - breaking a trust that leaves people feeling helpless. This must stop. By joining our campaign with a regular gift or a donation, you can help protect older people from abuse.
