World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2006

Action on Elder Abuse was proud to be the lead co-ordinator for World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. This new event, first held on 15 June 2006, was very important in raising the awareness of elder abuse amongst the general public, practitioners and government alike.

All the staff at Action on Elder Abuse would like to say thank you to all the organisations that were involved with World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2006. The Day was such an overwhelming success, and beyond anything we had imagined.

So far over £20,000 has been raised, with cheques still arriving every day. This is a tremendous sum, and we would like to thank all the organisations for taking part. Click here for a list of participants.
