The Relatives and Residents Association

 The Association exists for older people needing, or living in, residential care and the families and friends left behind. It runs an advice line, publishes information and conducts campaigns - all aimed at promoting a good quality of life for older people in care.

Rights of Women

works to attain justice and equality by informing, educating and empowering women on their legal rights.  Website gives details of their advice line, as well as downloadable information sheets and other resources.

Royal College of Psychiatrists

The professional and educational body for psychiatrists in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. The College is currently running a campaign (Changing Minds) aimed at increasing understanding of different mental health problems, including dementia.

Scottish Office of the Public Guardian

gives information on the Scottish Court system for protecting vulnerable people from financial abuse.  The link is to the Scottish Office of the Public Guardian.  The Scottish OPG was established by the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000, one of the first pieces of social legislation enacted by the Scottish Parliament.

Scottish Commission for Regulation of Care

The Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care (The Care Commission) is a national organisation set up under the  Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001 to regulate and inspect Scottish care services.

is an interest group led by solicitors for practitioners committed to providing and promoting a comprehensive range of high quality legal services for older people, their family and carers.
